After the Riad 42 and its minimalist Moroccan decor, here we go to the most select luxury camp in Marrakech. Once again, my goal with this paper is not to deliver a review about the stay and the services but to analyze their unique decor and details.
Scarabeo Camp, a Belgian-Berber Design Style
Scarabeo Camp was founded by the Belgian Vincent T’sas, assisted by his partner Florence Mottet. They subtly married the Belgian aesthetic and Moroccan lifestyle and have succeeded in creating a dreamy place.
What is the Belgian Style?
The Belgian style is characterized by contrasts and a cosmopolitan mix of styles.
In the main lines, we will note warm textures and neutral colors. When it comes to furnishings, daring mixes are made—precious furniture mixed with industrial style, antique unfinished wood with modern pieces.
Belgian like comfort and use cocooning materials, layering textures to face the long winter days. They also surround themselves with timeworn vintage pieces. Belgian interior design remains minimal while surrounding itself with XXL furniture and unusual decoration objects.
The Mix between Moroccan and Belgian Styles
Given the cosmopolitan spirit of Belgian interior design, we better understand the success of the unique style of Scarabeo Camp. Only one thing left to do, think Belgian! But above all, be daring.
We find here the sense of Nordic comfort with the plush Chesterfield and the wood stoves. Moroccan Berber cotton blankets and fluffy Beni Ourain rugs add a Hygge lifestyle feel.
The classic English sofas and armchairs beautifully blend with Moroccan cactus silk cushions and their faded look, as well as the typical walnut-stained wooden tables.
Refined natural materials, such as rattan armchairs or noble materials, for example, these large leather poufs, contrast with rougher elements, such as doum rugs or rustic tables made in “basic” wood. Always with lots of personality and this old-world charm that characterized the Belgian style.
Vintage Travel decor with Nomadic Inspiration
The decor makes us feel like an adventurer from the past, at the end of a long desert journey.
Vincent was inspired by the Moroccan caïdal tents and the Sahrawi nomads to design a luxury camp with travel-inspired decoration. But the journey to that particular time of the famous explorers of the nineteenth and early twentieth century.
A washroom inspired by the ancient nomadic camps, worn and worn suitcases make us dream of distant times, and binoculars to see beyond. Everything is thought to take us to another place, another time.

And Beldi Influence with Moroccan Crafts
How not integrate the beldi style in a country where handicrafts are so present and of such quality? We recognize our wooden elements this light wood characteristic of our traditional Moroccan stools and benches. Like, above, this woven rattan bench and this clear blanket ladder.
Storage baskets are helpful as a trash can or other kind of storage, but also highly decorative while bringing a natural and warm touch.
