Made and used by nomad tribes in the Moroccan south, this large wooden bowl is vintage and bears traces of use. A crack has been repaired with small copper plates, in the same way that the Japanese art of Kintsugi can fix the marks of time.
The bowl is freehand painted with red, yellow, and white geometrical patterns. The bottom of the dish has been roughly repaired. Berber symbols are carved on the outside.
Primitive practical items like this unique object bring a wabi-sabi and ethnic feel to your traditional or modern interior.
Why I love it:
What amazes me is that this bowl is a rare and unique piece that was once used humbly and became a unique ornament.
Dimensions: 12×6 in — 30xh16 cm
