Those animals made of terra cotta are genuine tribal pieces of art. Geometric or abstract patterns embellish the sculptures. Simultaneous art and craft, each primitive African pottery is one-of-a-kind.

With warm earthy shades, the motifs are tone-on-tone.

Women solely craft the modeled potteries. They usually make functional objects for rural life (pots and vessels used to carry water, drink, or preserve food). Berber women also build animal potteries to delight children.
